Bad Music For Good People

By Defekto | February 4, 2008

Most of my friends don’t know that I have a weakness for bad music so I decided to come out to everyone. My musical taste sucks! There I said it. Now I want to inflict it on anyone who cares enough to listen.

Now my blog has music! I’ll be adding mp3s to it from my own collection, so hopefully these will be new songs or at least not something you have heard more than couple of times. Perhaps you’ll never want to hear them again, but the point is to share some tunes that I think are really fun and that make me laugh or just shake my head in bewilderment.

One of my favorite records is by this guy named A.J. Marshall. He comes across like a Z-Grade Burt Bacharach who’s limited to playing Ramada Inn’s. And he amazingly sounds like Al Jolson. His gem of a record is called “There’s A Lot of Lovin’ In This Old Boy Yet” and includes killer covers like Young Girl and You’ve Made Me So Very Happy, A.J. Marshall: This Guy’s In Love With You.
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE DIRECT LINKS TO THE MUSIC FILE…download it. If you are the copyright holder of this music and want this music removed, let me know and I will.

On a positive musical note: I recently got The Supremes/Diana Ross No. 1 Singles collection and I CAN NOT stop listening to Love Hangover…I love that first sexy gasp she lets out at the beginning of the song. Here she is on Midnight Special.

OMG! I had “Love Hangover” on vinyl in the 7th grade. In fact, I was just singing it to myself about 2 weeks ago. But to see it immortalized on the Muppet Show- renders me fucking speechless.
