FAQ

Q: How do I order a print?
A: Click on any thumbnail and follow the Paypal link to make your purchase. You will be sent an invoice and confirmartion of payment.

Q: Can I pay in other ways besides Paypal?
A: That is the preferred method, though you can pay by check, it takes up to two weeks for your check to clear and at that time we'd send your order to the printer.

Q: Does a Polaroid actually look good enlarged to a big size like 20"x20"?
A: Absolutely. We could go bigger and they'd still look sharp without losing detail, but aesthetically we like them at 20" and want to keep costs down for us and the buyer. Each original Polaroid is scanned on a professional scanner and printed at a very high resolution, so it really is like you're looking at a really big Polaroid.

Q: Will these prints really look like giant Polaroids?
A: Yes. You can tell your friends that your print came from the world's largest Polaroid camera and they might believe you.

Q: What if I don't want the border on my print?
A: We can crop the border and make your print without it, though the size will be a little smaller.

Q: How long does it take to get my print?
A: We print on an as needed basis and more than likely will not have prints on reserve, so once your order is made, it will take up to 10 days to have your print ready for shipping.

Q: Do you do framing?
A: No. We will ship your print rolled or flat.

Q: How are these limited editions?
A: We are only printing 10 each of every print at this size. Each print will be stamped with the official Defekto stamp to certify authenticity and will be signed by the artist.

Q: What if I see a Polaroid that I want that isn't in the gallery? Can I get that one instead?
A: Yes. Email us and we'll work it out. Choose from an image in this set if you like.

Q: Can I get a custom Polaroid of myself done?
A: Sure. If you are in Baltimore or want to fly me out to where you are to get your photo taken, we can absolutely do that.

Q: Can you print one of my personal Polaroids?
A: No. Sorry. I only do my own work.

Q: Why don't you just go digital...it's cheaper.
A: Because digital isn't as cool.

Q: What about scratches or imperfections on the original Polaroid? Will it show up on my print?
A: We can and usually do a little clean-up on enlargements like this to produce a clean final print. Though older Polaroids may have some surface scratching, we prefer the dated, older quality that results in the large print. In cases like that, we would more than likely leave the surface imperfections as they are because we like them like that.

Q: Can you come to my wedding or event and shoot Polaroids for us?
A: Yes. In fact, many people love the alternative to traditional wedding photography and have requested my services for several weddings and parties.
